# AI Panel Data Residency FAQ

How AI panel data residency works at Minds: where data lives, who has access, and how GDPR and German data protection apply to the synthetic-panel workflow.

## Where does Minds store the panel data and the question history?

Panel data, persona definitions, question history and exported transcripts are stored on Minds infrastructure in the European Union, primarily Germany. The company is incorporated in Germany and operates under GDPR and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

## Does Minds collect personally identifiable information about real people?

No. The personas are synthetic, calibrated against demographic and behavioural baselines, not against real individuals. There is no PII handling and no real-respondent record to anonymise or delete.

## Who has access to my panel briefs and question history inside Minds?

Account owners and explicitly invited workspace members. Minds employees access customer data only for support requests the customer has opened, under audited and logged access controls.

## Can I run Minds in a region other than the EU for compliance reasons?

Enterprise customers can request a region-specific deployment. The default is EU residency; US and other-region deployments are available on the Enterprise plan starting at 15,000 EUR per year.

## Does Minds use my prompts or panel briefs to train its underlying models?

No. Customer prompts, panel briefs and persona configurations are not used to train base models. This is an explicit term of the customer agreement, not a marketing claim.

## What happens to my panel data if I cancel my Minds account?

On cancellation, account data including panel transcripts is retained for 30 days to support reactivation, then deleted from production systems within 90 days, in line with GDPR right-to-erasure obligations.

## Can I export my panel transcripts and persona definitions if I want to move off Minds?

Yes. Panel transcripts and persona definitions are exportable in JSON and CSV on every plan, including the Lite plan at 5 EUR per month.

## Is Minds SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified?

Minds operates under EU GDPR compliance and German BDSG. SOC 2 Type II audit work is in progress for the Enterprise tier; contact Minds for the current report status before signing the procurement decision.
