# **Creating a Mind**

A Mind is a fully-formed persona that can be built in under a minute from a plain description, website link, file, or keyword. Users can tune their Mind by updating its knowledge base, editing its system prompt, and customizing its profile and voice. These personalized agents can be used to clone experts, model target customers, or build advisors, and they can be shared privately, with a team, or publicly.

Every Mind starts as a short prompt and turns into a fully-formed persona in about a minute. This page walks through the full creation flow and the knobs you have afterward.

## The creation flow

1. Click **New Mind** in the sidebar. The creation panel slides in.
2. Describe the Mind you want to create (_"Warren Buffett"_, _"venture capitalist, deep tech, Series A"_, _"my ICP: B2B CMO at a Series-B SaaS"_). A plain description is enough on its own.
3. Optionally add grounding material via the tabs in the input:
   - **Link** — a LinkedIn URL, personal website, public social profile, blog, or interview article. The fastest path for real people.
   - **File** — a PDF or document (persona doc, interview notes, research report).
   - **Keyword** — topic terms that trigger targeted web research.
4. Click **Create**.

The platform runs a deep scrape and analysis pass, extracts the psychological signal, and generates:

- a system prompt that captures personality, tone, values, and domain knowledge
- a knowledge base seeded with the source material
- a profile image

You can watch it happen: knowledge sources stream into the panel as they're collected, the thinking-pattern sphere fills in, and the system prompt lands last. Total time: typically under a minute. Closing the panel doesn't stop anything; the build continues in the background and the sidebar shows its progress.

## Tuning your Mind

### Knowledge base

Add more grounding material at any time:

- **Links** — articles, documentation, blog posts
- **Files** — PDFs, text, and other documents
- **Keywords** — topic terms that trigger web research on demand

Every source is listed in the Knowledge Base panel. Review, re-process, or remove individual items. Sources with the watch icon are monitored for updates.

### System prompt

The system prompt defines who the Mind is:

- their background and identity
- how they communicate (tone, style, formality)
- what expertise they bring
- how they approach ambiguous questions

Click any section to edit inline. Changes save automatically.

### Profile and voice

- **Profile image** — upload your own from the Mind's info panel
- **Voice** — every Mind supports real-time voice conversations (audio call from the chat); custom voice IDs are available on higher plans
- **Discipline** — a short descriptor that appears next to the name (e.g. _"Brand Strategist"_, _"AI Researcher"_); click it in the info panel to edit inline

## Good use cases to start with

- **Clone an expert** — paste a thought leader's LinkedIn and get instant access to their perspective.
- **Model your ICP** — build a Mind that matches your target customer to test messaging, positioning, and product ideas.
- **Build an advisor** — a CFO, legal advisor, or creative director you can consult anytime.
- **Fictional characters** — roleplay, storytelling, product testing personas.
- **Historical figures** — talk to Marie Curie, Marcus Aurelius, or Ada Lovelace about their worldview.

## Sharing

Share a Mind with others:

- **Private link** — a unique URL anyone can use to chat with your Mind
- **Team** — available to all members of your workspace
- **Public** — surface it to the Minds community

Sharing lives in the Mind's info panel.

_The better you define a Mind, the more useful it becomes. Start simple, then layer in sources and refine the system prompt as you learn what you want from it._
