Minds in Adobe GenStudio: development guide
Understand the planned email-copy review extension, Adobe entitlement requirements, explicit experience selection, Minds research drafts and native host release gates.
The Minds audience-review extension is a development package for Adobe GenStudio for Performance Marketing. Its first implementation selects one email experience and prepares research from its text fields. It has been built but not installed or accepted in a native GenStudio environment. It is not a public Adobe Exchange listing.
Minds is the end-to-end platform for commercial synthetic research, connecting qualitative and quantitative work across Audiences and Studies. This adapter is a narrow entry into that workflow. Its email-copy scope and development limits are not limits on the broader Minds research platform.
Status and entitlement blocker
Status checked on 2026-10-01. An Adobe developer account and a Minds Creative Review console project exist. Runtime was disabled in Add to Project for the current organization; this account did not provide the required App Builder/GenStudio entitlement.
An Adobe account or empty Console project does not grant product access. An appropriately entitled organization and project/workspace are necessary before deployment, extension registration and actual host testing. Do not describe a compiled bundle as installed because its developer project exists.
Requirements and ownership
Use the intended Adobe organization with App Builder and GenStudio access and permission to register the extension. Obtain the required project/workspace through Adobe's supported organization process. You also need a Minds account and an existing Study with an Audience matching the research question.
Adobe developer ownership and Minds research ownership are separate. Verify the organization before changing project configuration and the Minds account before selecting a Study. Provider credentials, runtime keys, private links and private research payloads do not belong in documentation or screenshots.
The GenStudio Extensibility Guide is Adobe's reference for extension setup. Express developer access does not establish GenStudio entitlement; use the entitled organization's supported deployment path.
What the package implements
The package registers a validation extension and a Minds audience-review entry for the email channel. Its review view attaches to the host, loads experiences and requires an explicit choice. Single-experience review does not silently export every generated variant.
| Material or decision | First package behavior |
|---|---|
| One chosen email experience | Read named text fields and prepare exact-copy research input. |
| Multiple generated variants | Ask the user to select one; no automatic bulk transfer. |
| Images and visual layout | Not exported or assessed by this adapter. |
| Legal or regulatory compliance | No certification or compliance guarantee. |
The host's validation entry point is where the extension runs. It does not turn audience feedback into compliance certification, campaign publishing approval or a brand-policy decision.
Select and approve email copy
After entitled deployment and registration, open the Minds review view from the validation area and generate an email experience. Use Select material to review, choose the intended experience, and cancel if the material is wrong or should remain in the host.
The adapter turns that experience's named fields into labelled text, preserving the copy as input. It does not render HTML, capture visual layout or export the email's images. Ask questions answerable from text, such as message clarity, relevance, credibility and interpretation of the next step.
Review the selected label, choose the intended Study and approve transfer before drafting. Selecting one experience is not permission to send all variants. Consent to material transfer does not execute research. Confirm selection, cancellation and field accuracy in the actual host before calling them tested.
Intended Minds authorization and draft flow
The shared panel opens native browser Minds OAuth. Approve the connection, return to GenStudio, Refresh Studies and select an existing Study with its Audience. Enter a specific research request and choose the Study language. The development panel uses a bounded Study list, so missing entries require account and list-scope checks.
Draft research plan sends the chosen exact text as a prompt source to the canonical Study preview operation. Inspect the saved response's objective, language, questions and source to ensure that it refers to the chosen experience. Retries of unchanged inputs in the current panel reuse an idempotency identifier.
Open the exact saved draft in Minds to review its material, questions, Audience and usage before explicitly confirming research. Return only findings from that draft’s completed run. Provider registration and public marketplace approval remain separate gates.
Findings and evidence boundaries
The shared panel requests findings from the selected draft's completed research run. This adapter does not implement findings write-back. The intended first workflow displays aggregate findings so users can decide how to revise email copy. Verify it in GenStudio before describing it as host-tested.
Synthetic audience feedback is scoped directional evidence. It can support copy exploration but does not establish human observation, representative estimates, legal clearance or regulated evidence. Use specialist or human validation when the decision requires it. A saved preview without a generated summary is not research findings.
Review, confirm and run the saved plan
The saved-draft workflow opens the exact research plan in Minds. The gateway and private Zapier 1.2.0 package return completed findings tied to that draft. Review and execution happen in Minds; public marketplace availability depends on each provider’s registration and approval. Follow these steps:
- Open Study in Minds from the panel, or open the Review URL returned by Zapier. Sign in to the account that created the draft.
- Inspect the imported source, research objective, language, every question and the selected Audience. Verify that the material and population match the decision you want to make.
- Answer any missing-input or clarification questions and save the revised plan. Review the updated questions again; the confirmation applies to that exact revision.
- Review the available response allowance and estimated usage where the method allows an estimate. Methods that prepare additional questions during execution do not present a false fixed total. Resolve missing Audiences, empty populations or account limits before confirming.
- Tick the explicit research confirmation. If the plan uses an advanced method, review and accept its separate opt-in. Select Confirm and run once. Opening the link, importing material and previewing a plan do not execute research.
- Follow this run's queued, running, completed or failed status. Reloading the same draft resumes its confirmed run rather than creating another one. Before confirmation, reloading requires fresh consent. An error preserves the saved draft for inspection and retry.
- Return to the original panel and select Load findings, or use Zapier's Get Completed Research Results search with the saved Study ID and Draft Plan ID. Only completed results from this draft's confirmed run are returned. Incomplete, failed or missing runs do not fall back to an older Study summary.
Keep the original panel open while research runs. Its short-lived connection and draft selection live in memory. Reloading the host panel or reconnecting may require selecting material and drafting again. The saved draft and its confirmed run remain in Minds even when the panel session ends. Return to the Study in Minds to inspect retained results.
Permissions, data and sessions
The extension reads the chosen experience through Adobe's SDK and sends explicitly approved material through the Minds gateway. OAuth tokens remain in the gateway while the panel retains an opaque short-lived capability in memory. Pilot sessions expire after one hour and gateway restart requires reconnection.
Keep unnecessary personal information out of test experiences. Disconnect removes gateway access but does not delete text already stored with a Study draft. Manage retained material under the Minds privacy policy and the Adobe organization's controls.
Troubleshooting and acceptance
| Symptom | Meaning and next step |
|---|---|
| Runtime is disabled in Console | Required organization entitlement is missing; another empty project will not fix it. |
| Extension does not appear | Verify entitled deployment, registration and the selected workspace. |
| No experiences are available | Generate an email experience before selecting material. |
| Question depends on layout | This package reads text only; use a supported visual input in Minds. |
| Gateway rejects the origin | GenStudio's exact host origin has not been accepted and enabled. |
| Draft cannot be run through the handoff | Verify the matching frontend release and creator account; native GenStudio acceptance remains blocked by entitlement. |
Acceptance must cover real registration, experience choice/cancellation, exact-copy consent, OAuth lifecycle, source accuracy, retry behavior, supported cost/confirmation/execution, summary absence, expiration and provider review. No working GenStudio screenshot is supplied because the entitled host test has not happened.
