Explore product appeal, purchase hesitation and missing information with the restricted Shopify research pilot in Minds.
Availability
Minds for Shopify is a restricted development preview. Customer installation is not yet open, and the app is not listed in the Shopify App Store. The workflow below applies to an enabled pilot store. You need your own Minds account and an existing Audience with ready Minds.
Connect from a product
- In an enabled Shopify store, open a product and choose the Minds Find purchase barriers action.
- Select Connect Minds, sign in to your own Minds account in the new tab and approve the connection. Return to Shopify to continue. Each staff member connects separately; installing the app does not share the installer's Minds account.
- Choose an Audience you can access. Opening the product action does not start research.
Review the product and questions
The preview saves a product snapshot and a private Study draft. Check the description, price, currency and selected Audience before proceeding. The importer includes up to three images and twenty variants; it does not necessarily include the entire product catalog. Product changes after the snapshot require a new preview.
The pilot uses four fixed questions in English: what appeals, what creates hesitation at the stated price, what information is missing, and what would improve the product presentation. The displayed usage is four responses per Mind: an Audience of ten Minds means forty planned responses. Creating the preview does not execute those responses.
Run and read findings
Review the questions and usage, then explicitly select Run Study. The run uses your Minds account's research allowance. If Audience membership changes, create and review a fresh preview. Repeating confirmation for the same reviewed plan is protected against duplicate execution.
Follow progress and read respondent excerpts in Shopify, or open the full Study in Minds. Minds are AI-powered respondents. Their answers suggest hypotheses to validate with customers; they are not observed purchases, representative customer estimates or measured conversion lift. The current pilot Study runs in English, even when this guide or the interface is displayed in another language.
Access and uninstalling
The app requests read-only product access. It does not import customer or order history and does not change your products. The connection is scoped to your Shopify staff identity and your consenting Minds account. Connection requests expire after ten minutes; start a new one from Shopify if it expires.
Uninstalling removes Shopify account links and pending connection requests. Product-research references are retained separately so a later verified Shopify shop-deletion request can identify and remove the imported material and associated Studies. Studies are not deleted immediately on uninstall, but Shopify-created Studies may be removed by that later privacy process. Independently created Minds Studies and Audiences are unaffected.
See the privacy policy, terms and integration overview. Use the demo request below to discuss availability; it is not a public installation link.
